FROM THE BLOG ENTITLED WRITERQUAKE, AND LYDIA, THE BLOGGER WHO CREATED IT, IN THE NAME OF PEACE, KIDS, I GIVE YOU THE FOLLOWING:
Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high;
Where knowledge is free;
Where the world has not been broken up into
fragments
by narrow domestic walls;
Where words come out from the depth of truth;
Where tireless striving stretches its arms toward
perfection;
Where the clear stream of reason has not lost its
way into
the dreary desert sand of dead habit;
Where the mind is led forward by thee into ever-
widening thought and action—
Into that heaven of freedom, my Father, let my
country
awake.
- Rabindranath Tagore (1861-1941) Indian poet,
playwright and essayist;
Won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1913
Peace, kids.

Reading the poem here at your blog is like seeing it anew. Thanks for mentioning me and my blog, Lisa, but most of all for sharing Tagore with a wider audience. :)
You are welcome! I had a few e-mails asking me about you & your blog...I sent folks your way. If u ever need to e-mail me personally, you can find it at:

I love Rabindranath Tagore...and love this one too!
Nice to see this here...
Thank you, Mariposa!
I love this poem.

Wow--that's great; I could write a whole blog post on those two lines (for that matter, I probably will...). Tagore's one of those people I feel like I really should know very well, but really don't know at all...something I'll try to remedy soon....
Hi Dr. Jay Sw, Thank you for visiting! yep-this poet is great!
